If we can get over the Gold price for a sec, take a break from the manipulation conversation, imminent collapse of the financial system and look at NST fundamentally instead... I think we can get a better, much more informed perspective on NST instead of feeling all hard done by...

Let's start with the elephant in the room - NST faces increasing CAPEX for FY24 for KCGM mainly. This is the reason why NST is underperforming compared to the rest of the gold miners in the ASX.

NST needs to spend money to make money. Most businesses do... It needs to spend that CAPEX to improve ROA and ROCE which is below industry...


I believe this CAPEX spend will transform into production growth... eventually.

NST is cheap right now. It is cheap for a reason - FY24 CAPEX. But if you buy here with a longer term horizon 3+ years then probability is you will enjoy accretion within that investment timeframe inline with the increased production and corresponding Earning and Revenue.



3 years from now those that stayed invested in NST will be smiling. That is regardless of the gold price and the gold manipulation. One should really look at the increased gold price as the icing on the cake for NST. One should not rely on the gold price to drive their investment in NST. If they do they find out sooner rather than later how weak of an investment driver the gold price is. Much weaker still as a trade. I rely on the increased production and increase LOM over a longer timeframe instead
