Talking about people like Daniel Crennan QC (barrister) and his boss - ASIC former chairman James Shipton - and the like....

I sometimes wonder what is going on up there in the "brain department" of people like these two...

Very well educated, very smart, some are lawyers / barristers, wealthy, people who have a lot at stake - their careers.
And, considering all this, they decide to throw it all away by stealing money, which, in the scheme of things are 'peanuts' for these people? (Crennan ~$70k, Shipton ~$120k)

Not to mention that by their disgraceful conduct they bring shame to their families - in Crennan's case his both parents were lawyers - his mother got as far as one could get and became Justice of High Court of Australia, there is no higher court than that. His father was (still is?) a QC.

Shipton too, supposedly a smart guy, once worked at some pretty high but crooked places like Harvard Uni and Goldman Sachs, among others...

And what is disturbing is the fact that Daniel Crennan and James Shipton were supposed to be corporate cops, the ones whose job was to enforce the LAW and make sure that Aussie companies operate in a law compliant manner...

ASIC has had a very poor record for a long while now, maybe they should be disbanded?
