It is a fundamental of negotiation that you want to negotiate from a position of strength. The deal you get (unless the other side are fools) is slight better than the best alternative to a negotiated agreement - the old BATNA. If we want to see Race be able to negotiate a good outcome for all shareholders then Race has to have a compelling BATNA.
