You know. Shorting is also a hedge for institutional traders. Its an insurance if the market goes against them. Shorting increases marginally when positions are increased along with SP. Now, looking at the weekly chart, paying attention to the Volume last week as against this week. Would you say the market makers are holding on or distributing? Ok there is one day left to the week. Just musing thats all. I got no idea.
