the discussion though is about the test of teslas new tank - and it's video of climbing a slope
I say, that unless one knows what engineers or developers were testing - then one just can't say - oh, that's crap. It's just not possible.
One machine I built which was using sonar detectors - one day, we tested using lidar detectors -- anyone watching without knowing that the normal detection system was turned off and another totally different detection system was operating - wouldn't have a clue what was happening.
During testing, the development team didn't have a clue at times what was happening either - because at one point, the sonar system could sense clearly an elephant standing in front of it and yet the lidar was a blind as a bat ---------- which to this day has a lot of worrying nights for some of the electronics guys for other systems they've built.
to me - that slope one could have got a corolla up it on 2 cylinders ------- so my guess is that the machine being tested was purposefully hobbled in some way - some systems turned off or similar, or it was hampered in some way - I can think of several reasons to stuff around like that.
Problem solving brings up all kinds of 'what if we????????????? do this to it' and 'see what it does.
So to me - boneheads who say - oh look at that, it can't do that even ----------- are just infants who have never developed any kind of technology - or brain cells either.
Back to your choice of 4wd - I've had a problem for well over a year now - in that I'd like something not too big - kinda smallish Audi but all wheel drive - to go to the shops or to go to the Alps etc etc - an everyday car that I can just jump into and go pretty much everywhere that interests me ------------ BUT, it can't cut the mustard practically on one thing - it can't carry a couple of mountain bikes - and expensive ones - meaning that I don't want them visible.
I'm stuck thinking that it's just not possible in one vehicle. If I go big to carry the bikes - I lose the ease of sneaking down medieval streets. If I go small van, I lose the luxury side. I also want to load and unload bikes with ease - none of this lifting and struggling crap. And nothing on show.
I also want it to be able to just head off to the alps - which brings a lot of van things to a rapid halt.
