Right mechanism, but wrong timing. Pegmatites in the yilgarn will be Archean in age, so older than the Proterozoic dykes.
The pegmatites will have intruded through pre-existing weaknesses such as bedding layers, shear zones etc or bust right through/across lithologies depending on pressure. Proterozoic dykes would have followed similar weaknesses but later.
