News items are mostly syndicated in any case, or given global media ownership patterns are repeated depending on the political leaning. It’s possible to choose what one reads getting news from locals - wherever they are - means it will also be coloured by personal values. I can tell you that from my observation social and economic issues are global. There are global patterns even if local manifestation. for some, if past patterns are continuing, living off the largesse (or stupidity/ gullibility) of others means many of the issues can be ignored and one has the luxury of ranting without consequences. being nicely insulated while pretending to be well informed means only that one is hypocritical

The only way to remain informed in this new cold war is to learn the languages of both camps and read news from both sides and cross check by one's own intelligence.
