The current barging arrangement demonstrates the incompetence of the current senior leadership IMO. Cokal spent a significant amount of money early on evaluating the Mississippi push barge model - see earlier releases from 2013-15. For some reason and post PL it has been discarded. The shallow draft barge arrangement matched with the contractible tug system so as to get under the Puruk Cahu bridge during highwater was in my mind a superior barge arrangement to that current proposed. These barges are available for purchase now and the tug system could have been spec built years ago. As they say i guess its all water under the bridge now - which is becoming typical for this s??t show.
