The concern is that there would be no interest in a cap raise if there's another bad quarter. You have a company that never got close to profit, rising costs, and worst of all declining revenues. At that point it's a matter of liquidating the assets.
I think we all realise that SaaS moves very quickly, and dominant players become established with a healthy moat - incredible efficiency at scale, network effects, brand recognition, etc. You only have a short window to make a successful product.
Two competitors jumped out at me recently, just to show where I am coming from. I was really impressed with
this demo from Sitowise on their "Aura" product, it's not apples to apples with 3DP but has real time capabilities. And unsurprisingly, the
ArcGIS "Reality" product is pretty solid, and is competing head on with Pointerra. How does Pointerra compete with these? They can't compete on features with Sitowise, and they can't complete on marketing with Esri, hence I worry that 3DP have missed the boat.
