Agree. The charging network needs serious money thrown at it. Build it and they will come.
I had a friend who recently purchased a Model Y. He thought the RWD range of 455km would get him Townsville to Mackay. Nope. It’s hot up here so ac cranked and highway driving took range down to approximately 350km, so a charge was required to complete the trip. There just aren’t enough chargers presently to service the amount of EV’s traveling on rural highways. Yes even Highway 1.
Overall, his experience to date has not endeared him to EV’s. LFP batteries IMO, don’t cut the mustard for long distance driving with inadequate charging infrastructure.
More than talk and targets required.
