The fact that the Perth Mint engaged in such a shady, low practice as to rig their gold bars with other metals is very concerning indeed, even if they were sold to the Chinese. Don't people buy gold from the mint because of its guaranteed purity?
"Most" of it, but not all, which means some Aussie 'stackers' are sitting on gold bars that aren't worth what they paid for them.
