In reply, your comment is something I had thought was the "bleedin obvious" also and much safer, as you say ... it would have been more cost effective to drill the top third, log it plus MDT, then repeat the process as a third each time until TD. I have posed the same question regarding the sidetrack. Get to the UA zone, log it, sample it, then drill deeper to the next zone, etc. Why go straight to total depth circa 3400m with the obvious risk that by the time thats done the upper portions of the hole will have deteriorated. In other words a top to bottom testing approach, rather than bottom to top testing. I must be missing something but as far as I can make out they are going to first drill down to 3400m before doing any testing of the zones further up. Seems like high risk approach yet again.
