I figured it out. When you create a new post, you can tag a Topic (right at the bottom of the post). I think the Topics tab is intended more for posts regarding the "Topic" than stock specific dicussions. Would be good if it worked like that as it would provide for a good "go to" source for overall research and specific information on that topic.
