Having to up your mud weight because you've got indications your well is close to balance isn't a "scary time". It happens ever day in the oil patch and when it happens all youll see on the rig is people calmly going about their business.

Around 70% of the wells I've worked were in basins with overpressure and bumping up mud weight and conducting well kill operations were common.

IVZ did what any other resonsible operator would do in response to indications that a well is getting close to balance.
