A poll would reveal a range of probabilities ranging from 0 to 100%.
You can look at things in one of two ways:
1) every attempt adds to the list of lessons learned and improves chance of success on the next attempt or
2) every attempt is simply a brick wall head bashing exercise on a structure that will never be successfully drilled and fully evaluated.
Take your pick.
