true. If Australia hadnt lost so much manufacturing and engineering skills we would have had a huge renewable industry ourselves as well as the raw materials to make them. We fed the dragon for the last 30 years and a return to the 70s and eighties is unachievable. We are lucky our idiots didnt do the carrying on about lanthanide as well as Malaysia. Renewables took priority. Remembering we have states in Oz that wont go near uranium either. What a conundrum. We just need our left wing teachers to browbeat the kids that we export so called dangerous RE goods and it's on. Australia doesn't need communist insurgency, we have teachers. Lucky they are teaching at present that renewables are ok. Its the young voter who got Chris Bowen in so the Esperance ships are safe for now.
