I think the wording from Perseus was pretty general to leave options open, basically ‘let’s talk’. While a JV with Silvercorp is possible, why would Perseus want this? They need new ounces, they have the build team, they have the funding and African credibility. This always seemed like a big bite for Silvercorp, financially and otherwise.
I can’t see Orecorp wanting to be a part of a JV either. They’re not really a Gold Road type player with portfolio of exploration.
I can’t see how the scheme meeting can go ahead really. Surely it’s not typical for a meeting like this to go ahead when a no vote is certain?
