SYDNEY, Dec 4 (Reuters) - Brookfield has no intention of returning with a takeover offer for Australia's Origin Energy (ORG) after its $10.6 billion bid was rejected by investors on Monday, according to a source familiar with the matter.
Brookfield thinks the Australian government's new clean energy policy would be negative for Origin's future earnings, the source said.
Brookfield did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
