A bill was presented in the Legislature to modify article 29, section 3 of Law 6611, seeking to update the values related to mining procedures. The initiative seeks to ensure investments within a framework of clear and stable policies.

The Provincial Government has presented a bill to modify article 29 of Law 6611, specifically adjusting the values linked to mining procedures. This initiative, essential since no modifications have been made since 2000, seeks to promote genuine investments and prevent speculative practices in the sector.

The project includes fees for various services, from permit applications to mine discovery demonstrations, with the purpose of putting an end to outdated values that have generated the massive submission of procedures with minimal costs. The resulting investment is projected as a driver for the development of critical infrastructure in areas such as roads, energy, health and safety.

The proposed adjustment implies significant changes in the costs of procedures, such as the search request, which would go from 50 tax units to 400,000. The main objective is to attract investors committed to sustainable development, ruling out those who seek to acquire mines for speculative or real estate purposes.

Furthermore, it is highlighted that this adjustment will contribute to avoiding cases where private parties acquire hectares for exploration without the real intention of making investments, avoiding prolonged judicial procedures that hinder economic development and job creation in Salta.
