Hertz is not the only one that had issues with Teslas - it seems another car rental co. decided that Teslas are too expensive not only to buy but to run/maintain:
The mazda 626 at a base level price of around $36k offers excellent value - much better than a base model Tesla - whilst petrol may cost a little more but well and truly offset by the initial cost difference for years. Plus the mazda may depreciate less over say a 2-5 year period. Personally, an EV is not on my bucket list and as for the 'cyber' truck, I'll let others take them for trips on Mars. A car such as a mazda 626 on the other hand, would be very much welcome. Horses for courses.
Worth remembering that these EV' are supposed to be planet savers - the cyber truck at around 6600lbs weight needs a lot of resources just to be built, may be seen as a futuristic type of vehicle but looks so ugly and hardly can be considered a planet saver - perhaps Martians have a different perspective.
