Thanks, massive post and full kudos to those associated with Silex that kept this development going. Development of technology is a huge beast, contrarian and missed when 'now' is ever present within individuals, companies and governments. The CSIRO was setup by forward looking nation builders, and defunded over what could be said to be two generations.
It may not be appreciated by some but China absolutely has had its eye on the long game. With the wealth that has come from our resources over generations it is a really short position we now find ourselves in. Stupid amounts of capital on the roads in the form of high end SUVs and monster utes indirectly bought by our unseen mineral wealth. Nation builders? ..... consumers of nations and future eaters.
A changed outlook would shift this. A collective awareness of the task and effort is needed to navigate the near future - we get the politicians we vote for we shape our future.
