When Tom spoke it didn't drop out for my feed. My impression was that it was more about that fact that he was on the board for I think 13 Years and that 12 was the recommended length of time and he felt it was time. Remember Warrick Negus retired last year from this board after a long time on it.
I don't think the Milner family can hold the control beyond Rob M - I think their shareholding has diluted far too much. If Tom M was to be there he should run it. Todd Barlow is the chosen one and he came out thanking Tom for all his input even beyond the board room.
On my own view I think that SOL is racking up a few unhappy bunnies out there now going after PPT. I certainly would not be an investor if he (Tom) was to lead the parade.
