¨The big boys have voted¨!
Another empty comment without facts.
Voted how?
FOR or AGAINST the merger?
How many big boys are there? Any idea?
There are less than 134 because some of us hold more then 100K AKE shares.
Your big boys are a minority that hold 80% of shares.
Will they win the FOR vote and get over 75% of shares. Yes, very likely. Though, a 5% margin is not very safe.
Will they win the 50% holder vote? No one knows! Including you!
There are ~49,118 retail holders. Not everyone will be able to vote.
But if only a fraction of retail holders vote AGAINST the merger, we have a chance to stop the merger.
That is why AKE is cold calling AKE holders in Australia.
And then there are the superfunds. They are going to be a big unknown factor in the voting.
There are precedences where superfunds blocked mergers and takeovers (Origin Energy).
This merger only goes through if both the 75% share vote and 50% holder vote are passed.
