If NIS want to become a major player in the area in their search for Lithium then this is the time to tie up available land before it becomes more valuable off the back of their own success. It shows confidence in their own land holdings that this has occurred prior to releasing further exploration results and also shows their desire to be a significant player should they be successful in making a significant discovery,

Hopefully the decks have been cleared now to get exploration results flowing by allowing time for the options to wash through and get the other land tied up under NIS.
