In the same year, Altria bought a minority stake in US e-cigarette manufacturer JUUL Labs. Market research company Euromonitor Internationalestimated that the e-cigarette market had quadrupled in value, from under US$5 billion in 2013 to more than US$20 billion in 2019.45
