In Tomboyland picking the bottom was going to be "boringly obvious", until it wasn't. Now we await the top.
Actually I haven't yet seen any evidence that "technical analysis" like this is any better than astrology. The jargon for the various chart patterns sounds very impressive, but it never seems to have even an offhand reference to the evidence and the events which the chart reflects. It's like post-modern semiotics, a study of signs where the real things they refer to have become irrelevant, only the signs matter.
I welcome any informed arguments to the contrary.
