we've all known about the pile of visa applications Dud left for theLab gov to sort out. and the need of universities to have such a high number of international students (accounts for ⅓ of immigrants numbers), and the demands of businesses for skilled workers after the Libs cut university and TAFE funding for 9 years - down to the barest minimum..... and enabled shonky operators to misuse education visa people for cheap labour.
the Lab policy is a fix for all these problems.
whether it will work as they propose remains to be seen. the best laid plans of mice oft go awry.
