Lithium supply/demand forecast for 2024 is about to switch. As in, currently there is incorrect assumption there is more supply than there is demand. Yes maybe right now because Aussie producers allow it.. but profit margins are hurting and these current Li prices are artificial, some Chinese entities are "flooding" the market with low quality lithium below price of production cost. Cheapest producers in the world are Aussie Greenbushes, they control price (but we like to make China think they control it). Australia supplies 50% of the world's lithium (not counting all the rest of them across the globe and just Australian land mass). It only takes one Aussie mine to halt the depreciation of their profit margin, blame the weather in reducing production for demand to outstrip supply. @rama77 take note (my team is hardly ever wrong when picking bottom prices as you know). Many Aussie power players are not very happy with Tianqi's shenanigans right now... today's green day is just the beginning.
