I was informed from someone who worked in the field of psychology, and as part of their job in psychology, did analysis on which personality types perform best in the stock market, for investment banks, it was no surprise to hear that people with psychopathic traits were the ones that performed best in the capital markets and were best suited to the role. Lack of empathy is one of those many traits, which seems to be in alignment with a lot of the personality’s we see/hear in the big banks etc, as they do not care or empathize with others but are mainly in it for their own gain at the expense of others. Working for a big bank in capital markets, the goal is to win win win, make money and create wealth, doesn’t necessarily matter how they do it, and who gets damaged along the way, as long as it is legal I spose. All you have to do is look at what Bill Ackman has done in the past, What he has said in the media has always benefited his actions/trades in the market, he doesn’t care if others lose, as long as he wins, and he will use his influence to make sure he wins.
