European markets mostly up overnight.

FTSE rose 100 points (1.33%), the DAX bucked the trend and had a modest fall of 13 points (.082%) and the CAC rose 44 points (.59%).

BoE and ECB kept interest rates on hold.

ECB was more hawkish in their comments and hinted that interest rates would not be cut in the first half of 2024.

In the US, the DOW rose 158 points (.43%). Now at record levels and in a bull market position.

The NBI rose 26 points (.63%), the NASDAQ Composite rose 27 points (.19%) and the Russell small cap index rose 51 points (2.65%).

The Russell small cap index has risen 11% over the last month - and is generally an interest rate sensitive sector.

US Treasury bond yeild was significantly down and fell below 4% to its lowest level since August - now at 3.93%.

Oil prices rose in line with share markets - Brent crude at US$77.

Gold price rallied to be at US$2,034.
