the ASX would need to review and green tick the terminology used in the announcement , to ensure it met their requirements.
anyone else coming out before that review and decision was made by the ASX would have been poor practice and to be frank, pissed the ASX off.
not saying it could happen, but if there was a judgement call and the ASX thought you didn’t respect them enough to let them review and announce a discovery before you or some other body … then they may just be inclined to hold you to account at a higher bar than anyone else, within their right / judgement.
simple rule to follow, be nice to the regulator even if you don’t like them. They hold the power, don’t give them reasons to power trip you.
