there are 30 NATO states incl all the biggest economies in Europe except russia and three or four states are either trying to join NATO or would if they could . eg Ukraine
About 90% of the population of Europe as NATO membrs or hoping to be NATO members .
very largely overlaps EU

In practice I think it's fair to say Europe are quite united apart from russia ....with the odd country preferring neutrality .
