I have held POS for many years.
The nickel price has risen and fallen many times.
So far POS has done the best it could during the downturns. The LJ and BS plants were bought at the bottom of the market for peanuts.
During the last downturn the company was ran on the smell of an oily rag. I am confident they will prune costs quickly again.
I was keen for the BS plant to restart but it turns out to be fortunate that during the temporary recent upturn the it didn't. Otherwise we would be in the same situation as PAN.
I remain of the view that the Windarra, BS and LJ assets remain valuable. While the machinery and pipes are getting older the restart saving over Greenfield is considerable. LJ's position in the Lithium belt makes the concentrator particularly valuable.
BHP is in the press with doubt over its Kambalda-Kalgoolie operations. That would give the BS concentrator an immediate purpose.
Nickel will eventually recover again.... but when?
