I think the shots are using a different production stream to the instant Kava and extract so yes, better utilisation means lower production cost overall. Regarding plant growth, actually the root needs to spend about 4 years in the ground, but CCO is so well entrenched with the network of Kava farmers in Fiji that starting material supply is not an issue; the farmers are also spread across the islands thus mitigating risk from natural disasters like cyclones that commonly affect the region. CCO remained in steady supply even after cyclones Yasi and Winston.
