Surely Labor will have to ease themselves out of the mining tax mess even if they do scrape home?
They just got slaughtered over it at the polls and so it is unlikely they would survive at the next election if they persist with this silliness.
They are probably unlikely to get another term anyway but their cause would certainly not be helped by introducing a new tax on mining.
