My point was really that commerce generally doesn't require massive speeds because over a certain threshold it's acceptable. Commerce is largely people communicating with other people, having that email sent at lightspeed makes no difference when it takes the other person 2 hours to get around to reading it.
Providing massive capacity to every household for a yet little understood economic productivity miracle reminds me of all those dot.coms like Davnet laying fibre up commercial highrise. Where are they now? Bankrupt.
