It does appear there is a lack of knowledge in maths, but that is very common. People simply have an inability to do the numbers.

It could be significantly more, especially in todays business environment. Just look at their recent cost blowout. Everything is very costly. Although costs the company must bear. If they are unable to have their obligations and liabilities fulfilled, they must face the consequences no matter what they are and that is usually a corporate remedy by financial forensics.

Don't have to, there can always be a response, besides rotten companies eventually become unstuck however, in the event there was litigation, a caveat could be placed on the stockpile due to ownership of the tailings. Tailings that Iluka does not own.

No need with that either, let them put their money on the table for rehabilitation and pay what is outstanding , However, they don't have the money to fulfil their obligations and liabilities. They lack the financial resources.
