My understanding is that the power boxes don't meet Australian Standards. The standards are based around the specifications for the boiler chamber units themselves. As these would be an integral part of the unit I would have thought that they needed to be re-fabricated to the new standards required. As such I very much doubt that altering the existing units would be cheaper.
