I think you guys don't realise that Lindian is actually mining apatite? containing rare earth phosphates which require a special plant like Arafura proposes to establish as they are also proposing to mine this type of ore. The LIN carbonatite ore is a hard rock ore and I think it requires drilling and blasting followed by crushing. The Arafura plant will cost approx. $1.2 bn and their share price reflects this. The price of the mixed REE apatite ore before it is processed is only about USD11/kg.
This contrasts with the ionic clay REE extraction where you scoop out the clay with an excavator and simply wash out the REEs with ammonium sulphate at pH4 in a tank. This gives the lowest cost producers and is why the Chinese control the market currently. This may change as other ionic clay resources are being found outside China. eg MEI.
    I sold my shares.
This is my opinion only and not investment advice.
Good luck to all. May the odds ever be in your favour.
