Clearly there were issues in colonial times, however, the western world have sort to address those issues (through aid and other means) in recent times.
My point as you have also implied in the last paragraph is that China is still using the old systems to keep Africa in the gutter (last word 'gutter' is mine). Economic development is what gets countries out of poverty in a manner where its citizens can prosper. Until Africa develops appropriately, the mass migration to Europe/elsewhere and poverty you see in Africa will continue and that is no good for anyone is my point.
What I can't stand about @tolate is his appetite to continue to sing the songs of Chinese interests, and I doubt those interests will be used for the good of the people's of Manono. I have more faith in AVZ developing the resource responsibly and to the benefit of the DRC peoples even if Manono 6% grade spodumene concentrate is ultimately sold to China by AVZ.
