Well apparently Allah is supposed to be a 'Merciful God'. However, Christians and Muslims do believe in the same God and as i mentioned previously different names, different messengers but based on the same ideological principles! With differences according to their respective written accounts as in the Bible and the Quran!

Wrong......... Christians and Muslims "do not" belive in the same God. It is Logically not possible, never, not at all, ever......... You should know this.
