there is no "opposition" in science.... theres debate, certainly.... but scientists rely on evidence and when evidence points conclusively to an answer to the hypothesis the discussion circles more around what the evidence means, whether or not the hypothesis is conclusive (and data analysis usually determines this) and how the evidence can be used to further understanding.
in the case of vaccines, its about efficacy data v. adverse reaction data and comparison with the control data.
