Ukraine is currently democractic, being invaded by a neighbour that clearly isn't, lead by an autocrat jailing poets for 7 years for reciting a poem in public, probably half a dozen people listening... this is an indication paranoia. He is brutally murdering Ukraine people for their homes and land.... like Hitler did... sacrificing his troops and hardware maitinaing a losing battle for his ego and own survival.

2024 looks like it will similar to 2023 for Ukraine, both sides weakening in material and troops a stand-off, insecurity for both countries, GDP recovering. Ukraine is keeping the devil busy for the rest of us and other coutries (finland,latvai etc), sending messages to Putin and other Autocrats that starting a war has deep negative unexpected consequences. Putin losing troops a 2:1, won;t deter him, he doesnt care about Russian lives. Ukraine has no choice but to defend itself, a negotated pease with Putin would betemporary and without meaning for the safety of Ukraine into the future.
