BYD manufactures batteries as well as cars (as close to 50% of LFP battery market in China). Their innovative is the "blade battery" for EVs.
BYD buys LCE from domestic China producers and owns strategic stakes a number of producers such as Shengxin Lithium Group. Also do plenty of JVs. Building a cathode plant in Chile (producing 50ktpa LFP). Chile Gov't named them a "local prodcuer" so they get preferential pricing for buying local Chilean carbonate (so its either from SQM or ALB). Also looking at Brazil prospects
