yes, your point about confidence in regional hospitals is quite valid - even with the new big regional hospitals that have been built over the last decade due to lack of medical staff/specialists. If one needs specialist attention one is still faced with a trip to Canberra/Melb/Syd and associated travel accommodation costs. No biggy if you can afford it, but... That aspect aside, one wonders as to the effects of the current influx of immigration on the regional dynamic, and the madness (traffic and services) one has to endure in the major metro's. I've met a few in my local regional area of late (pre-Covid) that couldn't stand the cost and the hustle and bustle of Syd/Melb and escaped it for a less stressful life. All in all, the RE dynamic seems to be a movable feist, particularly post Covid - exacerbated by the housing deficit, which shows no letup, and with no expected change in the near future, at least.
