Patience is key here.
My major concern is that time has already run out, and the emissions reduction of projects like this will take too long, or not be enough to stave off disaster. Just about all of them still involve a lot of emissions to establish and to continue operating. If the climate gets really bad then there will have to be a complete rethink. Actually I think this has already happened, the record-breaking effects of 2023 made me switch camps and become a doomist. I no longer believe the energy transition is a viable solution, it is based on outdated data and observations. We need more.
