Lions investigate Brendan Fevola complaint as AFL star's future hangs in balance
Peter Badel, Andrew Hamilton From: The Courier-Mail September 08, 2010 1:38PM

UPDATE 2.32pm: BRENDAN Fevola has landed himself in trouble over an alleged incident outside a bar in Queensland.

The Courier Mail first reported his career now hangs in the balance with the Brisbane Lions investigating accusations of improper conduct by the star full forward.

A source has told the Herald Sun the star will be questioned by two AFL investigators over allegations of a lewd incident outside a hotel in Wynnum, on the coast east of Brisbane.

It is understood a member of the public has lodged a complaint that Fevola exposed himself to a woman while he sat in his car.

The source said the woman, a Lions fan aged in her 30s, had been speaking to the forward in the hotel.

She was then asked out to Fevola's car where the incident occurred, the source claimed.

The AFL would not confirm or deny whether two of its investigators had been sent to Brisbane to question Fevola.

If found guilty of an offence, he is almost certain to be sent packing by the Lions, who pay him $700,000-a-season.

The Brisbane Lions will be holding a press conference about Fevola this afternoon, with chairman Angus Johnson and chief executive Michael Bowers.

The 29-year-old Fevola, who had an injury-plagued season, met with Lions powerbrokers this morning to tell his side of the story.

The Courier-Mail is reporting the incident happened at a Brisbane Lions family day at the weekend.

The report said the Lions are taking the allegations seriously but have pledged to conduct a thorough investigation because Fevola has previously been the subject of a series of false accusations.

Fevola was axed by Carlton after he became drunk at the Brownlow Medal and behaved inapropriately towards a young woman.

When contacted by the Herald Sun, Alex Fevola said she had no comment to make on her estranged husbands latest controversy.
