My post was NOT directed at you personally but rather at the number of thumbs up that liked the success of our competitors.
I think this might simply be a case of misinterpretation.
The thumbs up symbol isn’t solely used to say you “like” something.
It can mean approval or agreement or to simply convey that you got something.
It can show support for a comment or person.
It can communicate a recognition of contribution, an appreciation of someone’s efforts.
What’s more, a court has even found that it can represent a legally binding signature on a contract.
And only because I checked, I now know that it can also be interpreted as an expression of sarcasm, a low-effort response, a sign of passive-aggressiveness or just a straight out F…. you! By any Gen Z apparently…
Amazing what can be learned in just 10 minutes on the internet!
By the way, I was one of those who gave a thumbs up to Piton for his post. I hasten to add it was my way of acknowledging his effort in finding and posting this update on the competition and not because I was giving him the finger!
