I’ve capitulated at $0.60 (actually $0.595) and bought a tiny parcel of 10000 shares too, as a gamble. I fully understand that I may never see that $6k ($5950) again, but there is a small probability of a large upside, for what is a very low cost.
I fully expect it to drop to $0.40, at which point I’ll buy another 10000 shares, making it $10k worth, 2% of my portfolio. It is just going to sit there in case there is any miniscule merit to the endless ramblings of the Professor, like bitcoin, it may be worth something in 10 years. It would have to return better than an equivalent of 10% per annum to make it a worthwhile investment compared to the opportunities elsewhere, but a punt is a punt, at 2% of my portfolio, even if I lose the $10k, I’ll just write it off as a capital loss to offset the currently $150k paper capital gains on the rest of my portfolio.
This way, if the company tanks, I feel justified in my view (but also have a legal case for being convinced by the despicable 3), and if it actually turns around, however unlikely… I will not feel like I missed out.
