I think a test SoC made sense as a first move. The chip has passed every test thrown at it and is available for potential customers for evaluation.
It seems to me that the best next move in a new fab would be to use a customer design for qualification. This could shorten the time to mass production and revenue enormously. The customer design could be produced in parallel with the customer’s existing design if capacity was available. This could provide additional confidence in the outcome by demonstrating superiority of the SoC using Weebit’s technology.
All it needs is a willing customer. That’s the hard bit.
